A Self-Help Drowning Prevention and Survival Guide

A Self-Help Drowning Prevention and Survival Guide

Mission

To help teach drowning prevention to underserved audiences.

What makes DROWNPROOF different from other drowning studies is that most drowning studies focus on collecting aggregate data such as: “who,” ‘where,” and “when” to study drowning.

In contrast, DROWNPROOF studies carefully selected drowning reports in depth to find out “how” the drowning occurred and more importantly, “why” the drowning occurred. This way, the recurring patterns of attitude, behavior, awareness, and ability that lead to drowning are brought to light.

The guidebook references 93 drowning incidents. Some drowning incidents are case studies; others support the case studies by affirming one or more of the 7 drownproof principles.

This way, each of the 7 drownproof principles is given context. Once given context, you are better able to internalize them in such a way that it keeps you, your family and friends, or any life you may touch, safer in and around water.
